Greetings! My name is Jessica White, and I am a graduate student in linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin. I work with another linguist, Dr. Lars Hinrichs, researching attitudes towards the use of Jamaican Creole (a.k.a. Jamaican, Patois, Patwa, etc) on the web. Lars has been researching this subject for several years, and recently published a book on the subject (here).
We found your blog online, and we’re interested in your insights given your obvious skill at writing both English and Jamaican. Would you be so kind as to answer our questionnaire at the link below? I don’t imagine it will take more than 20 minutes, and it will be anonymous. If you have other opinions about the use of Jamaican Creole that aren’t in the questionnaire, we’d love to hear from you.
